At Beija Flor Eco-village, our approach to education brings learning to life. Our bilingual program (English and Spanish) combines the magic of outdoor learning with a nurturing environment for children ages 3-6.
Think of it as a place where your kids can climb trees, learn about the world through play, and develop deep connections – all while being guided by experienced educators. Our small class sizes mean every child gets the attention they need to grow and flourish.

Our Forest School is just the beginning of what makes our community special. Here at Beija Flor, every week brings new moments of connection: neighbors gathering for Friday potluck dinners to share dishes from their home countries, friends meeting at our local surf spot (just 5 minutes away), and spontaneous sunset jam sessions on the hill.
From yoga and meditation to learning about local plants at our nursery – at Beija Flor Eco-village, everyone finds their own way to be part of the community.

We’re just 10 miles from Santa Teresa, close enough to enjoy its lively beach life while still embracing the peace and community spirit of our ecovillage.
Costa Rica has warm, tropical weather year-round, with plenty of sunshine and refreshing breezes. There’s a green season (May–November) and a dry season (December–April).
The nearest clinic is in Cobano, just a 15-minute drive from the village. In addition, Santa Teresa, which is about 7 miles away, has a variety of health professionals, including doctors, chiropractors, physiotherapists, dentists, and pediatricians. Many offer home visits or see patients at their local clinics. For emergencies, there’s a 24/7 air ambulance service that can quickly transport you to major hospitals in San José or Liberia, with a flight time of about 20 minutes.

For Volunteers: Our volunteer program offers a unique opportunity to engage in community life and contribute to various projects. Volunteers are expected to contribute 4-5 hours daily in areas such as farming, building, or decorating. We also encourage volunteers to bring their vision and create their own projects within the village, sharing their gifts and knowledge. In return, we provide comfortable accommodations and three nutritious meals daily. The program includes daily workshops ranging from yoga, capoeira, Kung Fu, art, music, and more.
